Te Kauri Lodge

Te Kauri Lodge is used by over 1400 people each year who attend environmental education programmes, research, retreats and recreation. The lodge was built by the HJNC in the 1960's and consists of two 37-bed dorms, smaller separate 4-bed rooms, and a 4-bed flat . 

The lodge is fully equipped with kitchen, dining room and lounge, and contains a natural history museum.

There is a camp site 45 minutes walk from the lodge, where you may see glow worms and luminescent fresh water limpets. A toilet is available courtesy of Department of Conservation.


Costs for the lodge have a minimum day charge of $65.00. 
Minimum cost for overnight stay is $135.00.

Overnight rates:
Primary and Secondary school groups - $5.50 per person per night
Tertiary groups - $8.50 per person per night.
Youth groups, adult tramping and outdoor groups and all other interested persons - $13.50 per person per night.

Lower flat: Sleeps 6 with own lounge. Additional cost - $25.00 per night.
