   Te Kauri-Waikūkū Site Map

The Project and Lodge are located in the North Island, within the 1100 hectare Te Kauri Park Scenic Reserve (60km south west of Hamilton, near Kawhia).

Kawhia is rich in Maori history and is the landing site for the Tainui canoe. Pa sites and Tomos are scattered throughout the area and many artefacts and fossils are on display in the museum attached to the lodge.
